I have had an interest in photography since I was 10 or 11. My father passed away, and my mother asked me if I wanted his Kodak box camera. I snatched it up and started taking b & w photos of family and friends.

In high school, I was on the high school paper staff, and got exposed to 35mm photography and some dark room work by the paper photographers. As a journalism student at Indiana University in the 70's, I used a school Pentax for my nonverbal class and got really hooked. Marriage and children came along, however, and I never seemed to have the time or money to get involved.

As my kids started to leave high school, I got serious about photography as a hobby in the late 90's and have since become a sometimes wedding photographer and dedicated hobbiest.

From a photographic standpoint, this site is all over the place. My tastes in photography are diverse. Since I was an early computer hobbiest, I made the transition to digital photography fairly easily in '01.

I am from southern Indiana, near Louisville,KY, but I have lived in Indianapolis for almost 30 years, soon after being graduated from IU.

I own almost all Nikon gear, 2 film SLR bodies, and 2 digital SLR bodies, as well as a Coolpix S6 camera that goes most places I go since I recently got it.
